Pastor Joel Engel represented Brazil at the annual gala dinner of the Israel Allies Foundation, held on December 11 in Washington, D.C. The event is recognized as one of the largest global faith-based diplomacy initiatives.
On the occasion, the foundation honored United States President Donald Trump with the Israel Allies Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his support for the State of Israel throughout his political career.
Trump was recognized not only for significant actions during his administration—including relocating the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and advancing the Abraham Accords—but also for his recent role in the peace agreement with Hamas.
“President Trump’s commitment to Israel has altered the course of history,” stated Josh Reinstein, president of the Israel Allies Foundation, according to the Jerusalem Post.
“Tonight, we honor not only his contributions, but the enduring alliance between Israel and its Christian friends around the world,” Reinstein added.
In a recorded video message, Trump said that receiving the award was “a great honor.” He stated that “there has never been a better friend of Israel in the White House.”
During his remarks, Trump highlighted his efforts to negotiate a peace agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza and ensuring the release of all hostages.
Addressing former hostages present at the event, Trump declared: “I want to congratulate you and thank you for your courage and wisdom. Everything you went through is remarkable, and we are truly grateful to have you back.”
Brazil-Israel Alliance
Pastor Joel Engel was officially invited to participate in the event and seated at the International Christian Embassy Jersualem’s table. The ministry funded by Pastor Tom Hess.
Commenting on his participation in an interview with the Christian website Guiame, Joel Engel stated that it was an honor to be present at an event of such international significance.
“This is a gathering that brings together governments and diplomatic representatives from nations. So when I received the invitation from Pastor Tom Hess, I was honored to also be representing Brazil and show our support for Israel,” he said.
He added: “I and all the guests are recognized as friends of Israel, as people who support Israel and also for our public stance in favor of the people of Israel.” Engel also commented on the central moment of the event: “The award given to President Donald Trump was for his unwavering support of Israel. This is one of the secrets to the power of God’s blessing upon the United States.”
The pastor emphasized the importance of Christians supporting God’s chosen people: “In Genesis 12, God promises to bless those who bless Israel. So we are blessing Israel,” he stated.
Cindy Jacobs’ Message to Brazil
During the event, American prophetess Cindy Jacobs delivered a message directed at Brazil:
“Do not be discouraged, because my plan for Brazil is greater than the plans of me, says the Lord, because I am working behind the scenes,” Jacobs stated.

“[God is working] on a plan to reclaim the nation. And God says: ‘It seems hidden at this moment, but at the right time I will reveal it to you.'”
Joel Engel also met with Reza Pahlavi, the exiled crown prince of Iran and son of the last shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Pahlavi has lived in the United States since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which overthrew the Iranian monarchy. He currently serves as a symbolic leader of the opposition, advocating for a democratic, secular Iran with respect for human rights.
The gala dinner included hundreds of leaders, described by the foundation as “influential voices shaping the global faith-based diplomacy movement and Christian support for Israel.”
Among the speakers were U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Israeli Minister of Science and Technology Gila Gamliel, White House Office of Faith leader Pastor Paula White, and Pastor Larry Huch, leader of one of the largest churches in the United States.
