“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence” Isaiah 62:6

The prayers are walls of protection that we, the church of the Lord Jesus, build around people and territories.

The walls have two purposes: To set apart and to protect. Some walls are built to set apart a space, let this space reserved, to outline a territory. When I build a wall around my house it’s like I said: This space already has na owner, it’s reserved.

Another purpose is to stablish security and protection, many times when I want to live in a place and I wish to be safe, I build a great wall. The prayer does like this.

A person, family and city that don’t develop a relationship with God through the prayer are unprotected. It’s interesting how we are trained from childhood to build things, we want a house, a car, after all, we spend our lives dreaming to build, but we need to understand that our family and relationships require investments and, if I want to live a life with God, have my family protected and experience the best of God, I need to pray. The prayer take my home to God and bring God to my home.

If we would speak deeply in prayer all the time, it’d be very little for the greatness of this word. Let’s assume, however, that nothing can protect my Family more during this journey here in this Earth, but prayer.

God seeks intercessors

“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none” Ezekiel 22:30

A gap is a space between two things; it blocks two objects, two spaces, two institutions or two people are interconnected to each other. When I preach abroad, there is a gap between the public and me. It can be a physical gap if I were in a platform; It can be a cultural gap, but I’m worried more to the language. If I that people understands me, I need an interpreter, someone to stay in the language gap

for me so I could communicate the message effectively. The interpreter should work for me so the gap can be eliminated and people can understand what I’m saying.

GAP

The meaning of Gap

m. Slit on a great wall, on a siding, on a wall. Empty space, blank.

To open a gap, weaken a defense; to make way. To be on the gap, to be always alert to the opportunities. To have gaps, to have opportunities.

We need “teams” that, as in the days of the King David, give to the Lord a uninterrupted worship, minute to minute, hour after hour, during all the days of the week. Every person praying one hour a day, we close the gap of the day.

Prayers are like walls

Each one is a repairer of the breach, one is linked to the other so there’s no breaks on the prayer wall.

Praying 24/7

What are the reasons to pray 24 hours a day for the cities?

The devil accuses the men 24 hours a day

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night” Revelation 12:10

So, that there be Peace and security

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour”. 1 Timothy 2:1-3

So, that there be prosperity

“And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace” Jeremiah 29:7

Bible tells us to pray 24 hours

“Pray without ceasing”. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

The call of God for your church in these last days is for us to get to the maturity, to give God a praise and uninterrupted worship, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, as in the days of David.

“Então Jesus contou aos seus discípulos uma parábola, para mostrar-lhes que eles deviam orar sempre e nunca desanimar”. Lucas 18:1.

Challenge

Set up a prayer schedule in your city. Pray unless one hour for your city. God is seeking someone who close the gap. So, that there won’t have a pause between a prayer and another.

Only one person can make a great difference in all the community and save all through the prayer! We need to be ready to pray; we need to be sensitive to these moments when the Holy Spirit is give us direction to intercede and we need to obey.

We never know when our prayer could be just that one needed to fill a gap and be an instrument to block a hopeless situation.
